About Althea
Based in Melbourne, Victoria
Althea Wong is an emerging artist in Melbourne, Australia. Guided by the strange eccentricities of her mind, her work transforms seemingly mundane subjects into playful scenes which seek to connect to the viewer through absurdity. As she draws inspiration from the turbulent highs and lows of life, her practice plays with personal joys and struggles, transforming them into light-hearted, digestible art. Through her bizarre and offbeat creations which mirror her own feelings, Althea invites the audience to empathize with these existentially perplexed characters in a way that ‘tickles your soul.’
